Kuma is an independent creative studio with a background in design and art direction. This is the studio where ideas come to die, resurrect themselves, throw a tantrum, and somehow end up in your brand’s hands. We're here to throw out the rulebook, burn it, and then throw it in a skip. Because design should make you feel something - even if it's deep confusion or unexplainable joy.

ABOUT US

The simple answer: We make shit look good.

The long answer: Kuma was founded by Jase Bloor and Mario Vaz. We started Kuma because we were tired of the same old recycled concepts that get passed around agencies. After years of working in the industry with big-name clients and navigating corporate rules, we realised that they wanted to create without compromise. So here we are giving traditional design the finger.

Kuma exists to show that bad ideas are the best. We are all about raw, unfiltered creativity that slaps you in the face and makes you think twice.

JASE BLOOR
FOUNDER & DESIGN DIRECTOR

Jase has worked in the creative industries for over 12 years, both as an independent designer and as a part of an agencies creative leadership teams.

 Jase built and led a world-beating creative team comprising designers, illustrators, videographers and more. Together, we collaborated with renowned brands such as New Balance, Puma, FIFA, Coca-Cola, Superdry, Nokia, and Apple Music, among others, winning multiple awards for our outstanding work.

Mario is a seasoned creative with a knack for non-traditional approaches and a keen cultural awareness.

His journey began in 2014, mastering brand identity and digital design. Transitioning to creative and art direction in 2019, he found his niche, working with esteemed clients in fashion and music such as Adidas, Nike, Samsung, Beats by Dre, The North Face and more. Mario’s expertise lies in conceptualising, directing, and designing, all driven by a genuine passion for connecting art and design with real audiences.
